I am married with 3 grown up children and five grandchildren.

My passion and firm belief are that Early Years are one of the most important times in a child’s life and a high-quality provision can lay the foundations for successful, confident lifelong learners. Giving children the skills, they need to succeed, in school and life, working alongside them and watching them grow is a privilege. I am excited to begin another amazing learning journey with our dedicated team this Autumn. Welcoming back children who have already started the journey and those who are new, exploring, discovering and learning together.

Whilst bringing up children I  ran a toddler group in Catherington till the children were of school age. I continued my passion to work with children by gaining Qualified Teaching Status and employment in a large infant school in Portsmouth. My first class was in Foundation where I stayed for 8 years eventually becoming Foundation Leader. Through further promotion at the same infant school, I became Assistant Head and eventually Associate Head (Head of school) in charge of 360 infant children and over 30 staff. In 2019, after over 20 years in the same school, I took early retirement but continued working in Education as Link Tutor supporting new student teachers to achieve their career choice as Qualified Teachers. I joined Clanfield Community Preschool, as manager, September 2022.

Alongside supporting the growth and development of my own children, I have volunteered in infant schools and preschools, taking every opportunity to be involved in the amazing journey the children make. When I left school I went into retail, managing in Greggs bakery and local Cooperative stores , eventually following my chosen career path, working within education. I started my apprentice position at Clanfield community pre-school where I developed my understanding of how children develop and learn, gaining a distinction pass. my goal now is to bring the love of sport into the setting.
